In 1979, there were only 89 breweries in the United States. Beer had been in steady decline in since its heyday in the 19th century. However, beer has been making a dramatic comeback in recent years. There are now over 6,000 breweries in the United States alone. Combine that with all the breweries in the world, and you have perhaps tens of thousands of beers to choose from.
With more beers than any one person can drink, it becomes necessary only to drink the best. There are many beer review sites out there. These three are my favorite:
Here are a few more the turn up with a quick Google search:
- The Beer Connoisseur
- The Beer Critic
- Chad’z Beer Reviews
- All About Beer
- Tastings.com Beer
- Brew Review Crew
- Beer Geek Nation
According to my top three sites, these are the best beers in the world:
- Toppling Goliath Kentucky Brunch
- Westvleteren Abt 12
- Rochefort Trappistes 10
- Marshmallow Handjee
- Toppling Goliath Mornin’ Delight
Cheers!
Hey Steve: Thanks for the mention! What could make us better that you’d feature us in your top three best beer review sites?
Hello, thanks for the comment. The beer review sites aren’t actually ranked, but rather reflect how much I have used them personally. What I find most useful are the “top beers” lists. They give me a list of beers to look out for when I’m out buying.
