Derek Sivers has started a movement. Hundreds of people across the Internet are putting up pages showing what they’re doing right now. Now I’m joining the movement. This is my /now page.
What I’m Doing Now
I’m continuing working my day job in intellectual property law and I’m on track to retire early, hopefully by the time all my kids go to college (I’ll be 52 years old by then). When I’m not working the day job, I’m continuing to simplify my life by getting rid of clutter and streamlining processes.
I’m also continuing to work on my 10-Year Plan, and I’ve got it down to my favorite 120 projects. Work has intruded on my life again over the past few months. This month, I’ll be focusing on writing Dungeons & Dragons content, and hopefully writing more blog posts to get things moving again.
What I’m Reading Now
I have a reading list with about 500 books on them. Realistically, I’m not going to read them all in my lifetime. My solution is that every time I want to read a new book, I grab 10 books from my reading list, pick the one I want to read now, and discard the rest. Here are the next few books I’m reading:
- Power Up Your Fiction: 125 Tips and Techniques for Next-Level Writing, by James Scott Bell
- Cabinet of Curiosities: A Historical Tour of the Unbelievable, the Unsettling, and the Bizarre, by Aaron Mahnke
- 100 Ways to Change Your Life: The Science of Leveling Up Health, Happiness, Relationships & Success, by Liz Moody
